SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Santiago de Compostela is a World Heritage City that was born many centuries ago to receive and embrace the thousands of pilgrims that make a yearly pilgrimage to see the tomb of the Apostle Saint James.  It portrays the splendor of a historical and monumental complex unique in the world.  The old city of Santiago and its grand cathedral are among the most beautiful medieval artifacts in all around the world.  Santiago is certainly one of Spain's most monumental towns, with a particular architectural style all of its own.  It is as well a town with plenty of life, with one of the most famous Universities and a large number of students who guarantee youthful atmosphere.  The University of Santiago de Compostela was founded in 1495.  Also the region's cuisine is of great worldwide reputation, especially the seafood.
