Downloading the Acrobat Reader
The Acrobat Reader is found at the following url:
http://www.adobe.com/acrobat/readstep.html
When you reach that site, choose a link under "Released Software" on the lefthand side of the page that conforms to your particular operating system (i.e., Macintosh, Windows, etc.). Please read the instructions for downloading at the site for your operating system.
Macintosh version. If you are downloading the Macintosh version, it is helpful to have a decompression software to unpack the application: StuffIt Expander is a popular application that can unstuff either the .bin or .hqx files. MacBinaryII+ can unstuff .bin files. To unstuff the application, doubleclick on the icon. After your have unstuffed the Installer, doubleclick on the Setup icon and follow the instructions for installation.
Windows version. The Acrobat Reader installer application will be downloaded as ACROREAD.EXE. To install the reader:
- From the Windows Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
- Type: [drive]:\acroread.exe
- Follow the instructions on your screen.
