Lab Grad Student, Hurt in Accident, Dies

Jie Wang, a UC Berkeley graduate student who also worked in Life Sciences at the Lab, died last week. A motorist being chased by police collided with Wang's car late last month. The accident left him in a coma, from which he never recovered. According to colleagues at the Lab, he was "an outstanding and naturally curious student who was beginning his graduate research on new compounds for medical imaging sensors and already had made several discoveries." A memorial for Wang was held on campus this past Saturday.
