POLICY REMINDER

Corporate Travel Cards
Are for Lab Use Only

Corporate travel cards may be issued to career employees who travel on official Laboratory business at least once a year. Except in extenuating circumstances, corporate travel cards should be used only for expenses associated with official Laboratory travel. Amounts charged to the cards are billed directly to the cardholder. The cardholder is personally responsible for paying all charges and keeping the account current. The Laboratory will not reimburse or pay late fee charges incurred in connection with the corporate card. Travelers are reimbursed by submitting a travel expense report. P-cards may not be used for travel expenses or registration fees. Go here to read the policy on corporate travel cards.

NERSC Bimonthly Publication Debuts

The Department of Energy's premier unclassified supercomputing center, NERSC at Berkeley Lab, has published its first issue of a new bimonthly newsletter devoted to news and highlights about the facility and its capabilities. Edited by Jon Bashor of Computing Sciences, "NERSC News" opens with a feature on the broadened accessibility of NERSC to users via the DOE Science Grid. It also includes a story on the lattice QCD data library. Go here to read the first issue.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PG&E Schedules 115kV Switching for Thursday

PG&E will be performing switching on the 115kV transmission line to the Lab this Thursday. The procedures will be transparent to the employees and it is highly unlikely that an interruption of power will occur. However, the possibility of an electrical outage always exists. Staff should take all necessary precautions. For information, contact Jim Murphy at x4175 or Mahesh Gupta at x5220.
