The patent office list, although preliminary, is: University of California (431), MIT (135), Caltech (109), Stanford (104), University of Texas (93), Johns Hopkins (81), University of Wisconsin (81), State University of New York (55), Penn State (50), and Michigan State (49).

Calendar Service Down
Over the Weekend

The Lab's centralized calendar application for scheduling meetings was unavailable last weekend due to a series of hardware problems. The service was down from 11 p.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Sunday. The calendar service has now been returned to normal working order.

Book on Grid Computing

Grid Computing book cover

Staffers in the Computational Research Department added their expertise to a just-published book, “Grid Computing: Making the Global Infrastructure a Reality.” As conceived, the Grid provides a uniform, secure infrastructure for sharing computing, data and experimental resources across multiple sites. Lab contributors are Bill Johnston, Keith R. Jackson, Wolfgang Hoschek, John Shalf and Jason Novotny. Read more here.
