Diversity Council Representatives
The Materials Sciences Division (MSD) recognizes that diversity is a critical component of creative innovation and the key driver for a thriving work environment. MSD supports a diverse workforce population by fostering an environment that is welcoming and supportive of all participants, regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, gender, or religion; and supports the efforts of Berkeley Lab's Diversity & Inclusion Council.
The Diversity & Inclusion Council at Berkeley Lab consists of Berkeley Lab employees, selected by their respective division director, to provide advice and counsel to Berkeley Lab senior management and their division management on diversity related issues. In addition, Council members execute on special initiatives which strengthen the diversity culture at the Lab.
The Council’s goal is to enhance the work environment to recruit and retain a diverse workforce. The Council provides a forum for identifying and sharing programs and practices that have proven their effectiveness in enhancing diversity. The Materials Sciences Division Council representatives are Rita Garcia and Alice Muller.
