This Ford Taurus contains windows, doors and other parts reinstalled and retrofitted by Lab scientists with thermal insulation developed at Berkeley Lab.

Berkeley Lab researchers developed insulated gas-filled panels that were installed in the doors of a Ford Taurus, later to be reassembled in Detroit.
