Keep this in mind: Our concept of how the Universe has evolved over billions of years from the time of the Big Bang until today is a scientific theory.  Theories must be tested against that which we observe in the real world. This is the hallmark of science -- the confrontation of theoretical ideas with the reality of experiments. STAR will allow us to test the theory that matter and energy evolved from a primordial hot soup of fundamental particles to the ordinary matter that makes up our world today. Scientists say they will be shocked if our theory is wrong.
