Muller Inducted Into American Academy of Arts and Science
Berkeley Lab physicist Richard Muller joins Denzel Washington, Frances Ford Coppola, jazz musician Sonny Rollins and 225 other leaders in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, the arts, business, and public affairs who have been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The 230-year-old academy is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honorary societies. Since its founding by John Adams, James Bowdoin, John Hancock, and other scholar-patriots, the organization has elected leading “thinkers and doers” from each generation, such as Benjamin Franklin, Daniel Webster, and Albert Einstein. Joining Muller is Andrea Bertozzi, sister of Berkeley Lab researcher Carolyn Bertozzi and professor of mathematics at UCLA. More>
