Welcome to the Early Career Scientists Society (ECSS) of the Life Sciences Division at Berkeley Lab.
The Early Career Scientists Society (ECSS) provides a rich environment that fosters career and personal development for early career scientists at Berkeley Lab and invaluable opportunities to network with one’s peers. ECSS members are scientists in various stages in their scientific career: from graduate student research assistants, graduate students and postdocs to research associates and project scientists. This diversity within the society provides a platform for informal and continuous mentoring at all career stages.
Events include the monthly ECSS Seminar Series, two yearly Life Sciences Division seminars hosted by the ECSS, various training and career development workshops, a monthly coffee hour and the Annual ECSS Summer Picnic, all organized by the ECSS Committee. The committee also provides career and personal development resources. We welcome you to participate in these events and use the resources offered. Our events are posted on the Life Sciences Division Events Calendar.
We strongly encourage you to become a member of the ECSS Committee and play a pivotal role in the organization and planning of ECSS events. Becoming a part of the committee helps early career scientists to well integrate into the scientific community at Berkeley Lab and is fun and fulfilling.
