SPO Meetings & Training

OSPIP provides training and training resources for LBNL administrative and scientific groups on topics related to OSPIP's responsibilities. This includes training in the use of the Lab's enterprise Sponsored Research Systems--RAPID and eSRA--for preparation of proposals for sponsored research. Resources are also provided for selected external systems and sponsors such as Grants.gov and the National Institutes of Health.

LBNL Sponsored Research Systems

Contact eSRAHelp@lbl.gov to schedule training, ask questions or report problems. Training Guides for eSRA can be found here. eSRA is the newest system currently being implemented in phases begining in the Spring of 2011. The first phase provides proposal development for NIH proposals, electronic routing and tracking of internal approvals, validation and electronic submission to Grants.gov. The system will ultimately include functionality for proposal development, submission to sponsor, and non-financial award tracking for all sponsored research at the Lab.

Contact RAPIDHelp@lbl.gov to schedule training, ask questions or report problems.

Extensive RAPID documentation can be found on the RAPID Topics page.

Grants.gov Training for PIs

Grants.gov Training for Division RAs

Grants.gov is an electronic portal that allows users to electronically find, apply for and manage Federal Grant Opportunities. It is the single access point for over 1000 grant programs offered by many Federal Granting Agencies.

OSPIP(called SPO) at that time, provided training in 2008 when the portal was first introduced. The presentations and training materials still provide valuable information.
