Hiring a Limited (Temporary) Employee

A limited appointment is an appointment established at any percentage of time, fixed or variable, that is expected to continue for less that 900 hours in a 12-month period. Employees holding limited appointments of less than 43% will be able to work indefinitely in a limited appointment since such employees will not reach the 900-hour threshold in a 12-month period. The employee may be eligible for CORE or mid-level benefits, sick leave, holiday pay, but no vacation.
