Question: What is the latest meeting
agenda?
Answer: The latest version of the meeting agenda is attached.
To download, please click here.
Please review the agenda and let the Symposium Chair or Co-chair
(Angelos Findikakis and Chin-Fu Tsang) know right away if there
are mistakes or inaccuracies.
Question: Where is the Symposium going
to be held?
Answer: It will
be held in Building 50 Auditorium at Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory, beginning 8:30 AM on Monday, March 25, 2002. For instruction
how to get there, please see another Q&A below.
Question: How long will each talk
be?
Answer: The meeting
agenda indicate the length of time each talk has, which includes
questions and answers. For a regular talk, the speaker should take
15 minutes, leaving 5 minutes for questions. For invited and keynote
talks, the speakers should leave 5-10 minutes of their allotted
time for questions.
Question: What are the guidelines for the posters for the Symposium?
Answer: The Poster size can be up to 4
ft. high x 6 ft. wide. The word count on the poster should not exceed
1000 words, and we think that the number should be much less than
1000, and should be mostly in outline form. The authors should place
the paper title prominently at the top, followed by author's names
and affiliations.
Question: What audiovisual equipment are
available at the meeting?
Answer: An overhead projector, a slide projector, as well
as a computer projector will be available. A laptop computer will
also be provided, so that it is NOT necessary for each speaker to
bring his/her own laptopcomputer. It is suffice for the speaker
to bring a CD with a PowerPoint presentation on it, to be loaded
onto the meeting computer. The overhead projector can serve as an
alternative/backup, if needed.
Question: Does the Conference registration process on the
web include hotel reservation?
Answer: Though the conference registration on the web asks
for the name of your hotel, it is just for information of the conference
coordinators, in case you need to be contacted during the meeting.
It does NOT imply automatic hotel reservation. You need to reserve
room at a hotel by contacting them directly. Please contact us if
you encounter difficulties with this.
Question: When are the receptions
and banquet of the Symposium?
Answer: There will be no banquet at the Symposium, but there
will be two receptions during the symposium, coupled with the two
poster sessions:
a. Monday, March 25, 2002 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Cafeteria Building
b. Tuesday, March 26, 2002 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Cafeteria
Building
The first reception will feature as-much-as-you-can-eat
barbecued meats, salads, beans, corn bread, keg beer and wines.
The second reception will feature an assortment of hors doeuvres,
bottled beer, and wines.

your identification (ID). They will have a list of the names of
the registered attendees to verify your name. There will be a limited
number of parking spaces reserved for non-LBNL attendees to the
symposium. Please ask the guard at the Blackberry Gate for directions
to the "Z" Parking Lot. Then ask to be directed to Building
50 Auditorium. (Because of the shortage of parking spaces, driving
